New Beta of SecretBook 4

August 20th, 2008 7

Details are on the Beta Page, but I think we are almost there. I’ve still got an issue with file updates from SecretBook 3 to 4, but that is the only major issue left.

One small question: what’s the difference between version 3 and version 4? I don’t find any information about it on your site!

Good question. I’ll have a detailed list of changes with the release, but for now these are the big differences:

Now allows nested Groups to make organisation easier.

Automated XML backups.

New Secret Views:

Column view for simple access to secrets.

  • List view lets you see more than one secret at once.

Color labels for Groups and Secrets.

Better attachment handling.

iPhone Sync ready.

Welcome Screen with templates for starting new files.

XML export and import of secrets guarantees you access to your data.

Hello Jason, have you news about the final release of SecretBook 4.0?

SecretBook 4 is now out and can be downloaded on this site.

As for differences Nested Groups, List View and the iPhone support are the big improvements. Smaller improvements included a better HUD, Item Coloring, automatic backups and a lot of small things. It is a free upgrade as well.

AutoFill doesn’t work in FireFox as there is no applescript support (although I have not checked this for a while). You can still use the drag and drop though (or copy and paste). Drag and drop works better now with the new HUD.
