SongBook DS 3.0.1 is on App Store

June 2nd, 2010 7

A number of users have reported issues with the Library not showing media servers in SongBook 3.0.0.

This bug was caused by a compiler setting that was different in the build that went to Apple from the build that was tested. They should have been identical but there was one difference. This caused some code that was not completely correct to cause an error whereas it worked 100% correctly in the development and test builds.

We’re sorry this happened and will put extra tests in place to make sure that it does not happen again?

I know the app store gets a lot of criticism, but look at this…

Version 3.0.1 is in part sucks! Sorry for the expresion, I apreciate your work but… I’ve got a problem with servers. Using the software that Linn has (Kinsky Desktop) with Cara 6 shows all the servers that I have, computers, NAS, Servers, etc… And with the Songbook no, I can’t see all the servers (using Twonky Media) Please consdier these and give us a solution. I’ve got some clients with NAS and the SongBook is not working NOW. If you wanna I can upload a video and you’ll see how the servers runs in KinskyDesktop and not with these release of SongBook. I think that we have a problem on the software, because with SongBook 2 runs perfect.

I’ve to say, that for the rest of work, congratulations! It’s amazing and a very very nice interface. I have to try it woth an iPad :)

I hope you drop me back a line soon, here you have my e-mail, just in case: jpicon@lgsono.com

Hi, i guess the new version a big improvement. It´s more comfortable, the surface is much better, it´s faster and more stable. I have only two points to criticize: sometimes the wrong record cover was displayed and i really miss the magnifying glass.
Thank you

hello,
I’m missing the possibility to See the Details like Format and Bit rate of a Song on the ipad which Works perfectly on the iPhone. Why ist there no Bigger screen for the actual Played Song? Please fix it with the Next update. Thanks!

Kind regards
Lars

The album art issue is fixed in a new release that is about to be sent to Apple, so you should see a fix for this in a few days. The Search is still there, it’s just been updated to be at the top of the table view. If you scroll up you will see it appear. Once you know about it, it’s more convenient and it takes up less screen space.

We will be adding this feature in the next update, as well as a couple of other things that people have suggested (such as the volume up/down buttons at the end of the volume slider. We wanted to get a good stable iPad release out first and then based on that experience add some of the more complex features. We’d like to make better use of the screen space and wanted to make sure we did it right rather than just making a bigger iPhone version. At the moment everything is accessible from the one screen plus the Zones PopOver, which makes it really easy to use. We don’t want to add too much complication to that simple interface.

Hello!
Sorry, on my iPod touch (8GB) the format and Bitrate display works not perfectly! Only the first song when music starts shows the data correctly, after one skip forward or backward no data is still there. After an WLAN refresh or leaving/restarting the app and new synchronisation the data is back. Not good. Tip: please make normal (!) Skip-buttons and the possibility to move the time-progressbar with the finger in realtime!
Greetings
